Temporary Staff Grade Physiotherapist
Candidates completing their Degree 2025 are welcome to apply, and if successful at interview, would be employed at Physiotherapy Assistant grade pending CORU registration, at which point they will transition to Physiotherapist grade
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry a clinical case load applicable to the post.
- Be responsible for client assessment and the development and implementation of individualised treatment plans that are client-centred and in line with best practice.
- Be responsible for goal setting in partnership with the client, family, and other team members.
- Communicate and work in co-operation with other team members.
- Develop effective communication and provide instruction, guidance and support to service users, families, carers etc.
- Participate in clinics, review meetings, team meetings, case conferences, ward rounds etc. as required and at varied locations.
- Operate within the rules of Professional Conduct as assigned by CORU and the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapy
- Maintain clinical records in accordance with local, hospital and professional guidelines.
- Record and collate statistics including computer statistics to reflect work undertaken and provide data as required by the Physiotherapy Manager
- Maintain clinical records in accordance with local, hospital and professional guidelines
- Maintain professional standards in relation to confidentiality, ethics, and legislation.
- Maintain quality standards of work and co-operate with quality assurance programs.
- Work within own scope of competence in line with principles of best practice, professional conduct, and clinical governance
- Participate in the on-call rota and provide rotational cover when requested.
- Participate in weekend working on a rota basis as part of the core hours of the position.
- Liaise with colleagues in the community to facilitate the integration of care between primary and secondary care.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications and/ or experience
Essential:
Candidates must, on the latest date for receiving completed applications,
Hold a Physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. Please see list of acceptable Physiotherapy qualifications:

AND
Be registered or be eligible for registration as a Physiotherapist by the Physiotherapist Registration Board at CORU.
AND
Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapist Register maintained by the Physiotherapist Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Physiotherapist register maintained by the Physiotherapist Registration Board at CORU
Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC)
and
Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
