Title: Material Coordinator/ Truck Driver

Status: Permanent Contract

Location: PEM Galway

Reports to: Facilities Manager

Responsibilities:

Safely transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment between the company’s three buildings within the business estate.
Operate a forklift to load, unload, and move goods efficiently between trucks, storage areas, and production facilities.
Ensure proper loading, unloading, and securing of cargo to prevent damage during transport.
Verify product quantities and condition before and after transport.
Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and forklift; perform daily pre-use inspections and report any maintenance needs.
Support stock control activities by ensuring timely and accurate material movement.
Assist in organizing and relocating goods in loading/unloading areas and storage spaces.
Participate in routine site cleanliness, including sweeping and general upkeep in transport and loading zones.
Follow procedures for proper waste segregation when applicable (e.g., pallets, packaging).
Adhere strictly to internal transportation and safety protocols.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards by actively promoting safe work practices and participating in regular safety audits and training.

Specific Characteristic Duties & Responsibilities:

Operate trucks and forklifts in accordance with local driving regulations, site safety rules, and company policies.
Accurately complete any required transport logs, forklift checklists, or other documentation.
Report any issues, hazards, or delays to the supervisor in a timely manner.
Participate in relevant logistics, quality, or safety meetings when required.
Remain flexible for shift work and additional duties as assigned.
Attend scheduled training and maintain up-to-date certifications for both truck driving and forklift operation.

Qualifications:

Skills/Qualifications:

Proven experience operating trucks and forklifts, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Valid category C (truck) driving license.
Valid forklift operator certification/license prefered.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team; utilize time management and self-prioritisation skills
Good organisational and problem-solving skills and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions
Ability to exercise flexibility, initiative and good judgment
Ability to prioritize, organize and multi task to perform daily workload cross-functionally.
Adaptability within ever changing working environment
Computer literacy /proficiency , ERP /MS Office (Excel) products
Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities;
Experience in a similar role an advantage with a proven track record of continuous improvement in that role.

Note: Handling of hazardous materials /chemicals will form part of the role. Full training will be provided.

Pay: From €15.00 per hour
