Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal (FTC) 
Full-Time | 4 Days per Week + 1 in 5 Weekends Start Date: November 2025 | Duration: 12 months Salary: €50,000 
About The Role Join The Well Pet Hospital, a leading small animal veterinary hospital in Sligo, as a Veterinary Surgeon on a fixed-term contract. We are seeking a confident, skilled vet to deliver exceptional care across consultations, surgical procedures, inpatient management, and emergency cases.  
You will work 4 days a week with one weekend shift/on-call every five weeks, supporting a vibrant team committed to compassionate, high-quality care. 
Key Responsibilities *Perform diagnostic assessments and detailed treatment planning *Conduct routine small animal surgeries and dentistry procedures *Deliver consults with proficiency and empathy *Manage inpatients, emergencies, and intensive care cases *Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate clearly with clients *Confidently work both sole charge and as part of a multidisciplinary team 
What We’re Looking For *VCI registered veterinary surgeon eligible to work in Ireland *Competent in routine and small animal surgery *Strong diagnostic and treatment planning skills *Excellent communication and team collaboration skills *Not suitable for new graduates or vets requiring extensive supervision *Interest or proficiency in dentistry is preferred but not essential
