We here at The George Hotel aim to provide a consistently friendly and efficient service, from meeting and greeting our guests, to taking orders and serving both food and drink, right up until they ask for their bill. Whether you are interacting with guests, setting tables, cleaning or even communication with fellow colleagues, we are hoping to make each individual transaction a memorable experience for all involved.
Key Responsibilities:
- To arrive for work on time dressed in full clean uniform, well groomed and presenting a professional appearance to our guests.
- To ensure that service stations are prepared stocked and ready for service before the service period opens or any function commences.
- To take orders, serve food and drinks ensuring that guests experience excellent service throughout their time in the restaurant, bar & Hotel.
- To recommend and ‘up-sell’ to guests through menu and stock knowledge.
- To ‘clean as you go’ to ensure a high level of cleanliness throughout your work area.
- To ensure that where applicable the guests bill is accurate, presented in a timely manner and all payments received are posted and appropriate cash handling procedures are followed.
- To ensure that all food and beverage products are correctly stored, dated, labelled and rotated where necessary.
- To adhere to the Licensing Laws and Weights and Measure Acts.
- To ensure proper use of the glass washing machine as required.
- To keep all wastage and breakage’s down to a minimum and to report any wastage or breakage to your manager.
- To communicate Hotel services and facilities to guests as required and to ensure that guests needs and requirements are met in an efficient manner.
- To deal with any customer complaints in a professional manner and to notify your supervisor / manager of these.
- To report and where possible take action on incidents of accidents or damage.
- To attend all training courses/meetings as notified to you by management.
- To be aware and comply with all company policy regarding: Fire, Health & Safety, Hygiene, Food Hygiene, Customer Care & Security as outlined in the associate handbook and other supporting documentation.
- To promote awareness of health, safety and security within the Hotel for staff and guests.
- To be flexible in your approach to work as during peak times it may be necessary to work in other related departments within the Hotel.
- To perform any other duties as may be reasonably requested by management from time to time.
