Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, and dispatching goods, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Some van driving will also be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- **Receiving and Storing Goods:**
- Unload, inspect, and record incoming shipments.
- Verify the accuracy of delivery documents and ensure items are in good condition.
- Store goods in designated areas according to inventory management procedures.
- **Order Picking and Packing:**
- Accurately pick and pack orders for shipment according to customer specifications.
- Ensure all orders are correctly labeled and securely packaged.
- **Inventory Management:**
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
- Assist in stock replenishment and rotation to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- **Loading and Dispatching:**
- Prepare goods for dispatch, including labeling and documentation.
- Load goods onto delivery vehicles, ensuring safe and secure transport.
- **Warehouse Maintenance:**
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and in accordance with training.
- **Health and Safety:**
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory systems.
- Ability to lift and move heavy & awkward items and lengths of steel.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling orders and inventory.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, if required.
Desired Skills:
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Familiarity with warehouse management software (Intact Software) an advantage..
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Capability to work in varying temperature conditions.
