We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable After School Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of our after school program, ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children aged 5 years to 12 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times
- Assist with delivering a range of age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, and outdoor play
- Help with homework and provide general support where needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
- Ensure policies and procedures (especially regarding child safeguarding) are followed at all times
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in a similar setting (preferred but not essential)
- Friendly, patient, and approachable personality
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and punctual
- First Aid and Child Protection training (or willingness to obtain)
- Garda vetting (mandatory)
- QQI level 5 in Early Years Education required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From €13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
