Carr Golf is Ireland’s largest and fastest-growing managed services company for the golf industry. Our Golf Course Maintenance Services (GCMS) division manages 24 courses nationwide, delivering excellence in maintenance and presentation.
Our expanding Plant & Machinery Maintenance Team plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our extensive fleet across all courses.
Reporting to the Head of Plant & Machinery Maintenance, the Apprentice Agricultural Mechanic will:
- Undertake preventative maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of golf course equipment.
- Support the delivery of safe, reliable, and efficient machinery operations both on- and off-site.
- Work as part of a professional and supportive team committed to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on equipment (diesel, petrol, and electric).
- Maintain and service mowers, tractors, rollers, utility vehicles, and other machinery.
- Complete regular servicing and mower blade sharpening.
- Keep accurate maintenance records, including parts and inventory.
- Train and guide team members in preventive maintenance and equipment use.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005.

Academic & Other Requirements
- Full driving licence.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Must be at least 16 years of age by 1st September 2025.
- Successful candidates will be required to attend an interview.
Apprenticeship Programme
- Practical, hands-on training with exposure to modern golf course machinery.
- Leads to a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Agricultural Mechanics.
- Trains apprentices to the highest technical standards, developing transferable skills with global career opportunities.
