Cowper Care is seeking applications for the role of Assistant Care Manager for its Nursing Home in Dublin.
The role shall be to support the Care Manager (Person in Charge) in the clinical and professional leadership of the care team and to deliver direct resident care.
Report directly to the Care Manager.
This is a Full-time position – 39 hours per week.
Garda Vetting and a clean medical will be required for the successful applicant.

About The Role
The Assistant Care Manager will:
- Ensure that the provision of a high standard of care to the residents and families in Cowper Care is consistent with the mission, vision, values and strategic plan of Cowper Care
- In the absence of the Care Manager, undertake the role and responsibilities of the Person-in-Charge in line with the Health Act 2007, related regulations and the Health
- Fulfil the duty of care in the course of nursing practice.
- Ensure a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.
- Ensure that correct procedures are adhered to, maintain systems for the management of risk, is responsible and accountable for the care and welfare of all residents.
Requirements
- Must be a registered nurse (on, or eligible to be on, the live register of nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, NMBI)
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Minimum three years post graduate experience with a minimum of two years’ experience in Care of the Older Person at a CNM level
- Knowledge of Residential Care legislation and standards including the Health Act 2007, HIQA’s National Quality Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People in Ireland, Joint Commission International Long Term Care Standards and others as applicable
- Demonstrate sound knowledge and clinical nursing practice together with future trends in Care of Older Persons
