Dublin Dental University Hospital (DDUH)
The DDUH is seeking to recruit a Qualified Electrician in the role as Assistant Maintenance Foreperson for the Buildings and Maintenance Department. This is a full-time permanent contract with a dual reporting line to the Facilities Manager and Maintenance Foreperson.
Outline of Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will integrate with a team of 3 maintenance personnel, skilled in the maintenance of dental equipment to ensure the efficient provision preventative maintenance of service delivery.
Main tasks include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring continuous operation of highly serviced Dental Hospital building by carrying out maintenance work as directed by Maintenance Foreperson/Facilities Manager.
- Respond to urgent technical breakdowns or faults.
- Investigate and advise Maintenance Foreperson/Facilities Manager on nature and extent of repairs required.
- Liaise with local area managers/supervisors on all maintenance issues.
- Identify spares/replacement parts required and order from internal stores or external suppliers as necessary.
- Attend weekly Buildings & Maintenance Department meetings.
- Liaise with external contractors & suppliers as directed by Maintenance Foreperson or Facilities Manager.
- Equipment specific training will be provided.
Person Specification
- Good communication skills.
- Have a proactive, results-oriented and solution-focused approach and the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
- Hands on approach.
- Ability to diagnose problems quickly.
- Knowledge of workplace H&S procedures.
- A strong work ethic.
- A background in good maintenance practices and procedures.
- Experience in installation, operation and maintenance of mechanical/electrical services.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications
- Pre-requisite to have an electrical trade background, fully qualified Electrician.
- 10 years post trade experience, ideally coming from a maintenance background with inhouse experience plumbing and other general tasks.
- Supervision and management of staff is required.
- Ideally from a commercial industry background.
