What you’ll be doing...
The Associate Director, Indirect Sourcing, will lead the development and implementation of the Category Strategy for Towers and Leases Sourcing. You will lead a team of Category Sourcing Experts responsible for establishing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiations, risk management and supply base performance management. The successful candidate will be a dynamic professional with a transformational approach to Sourcing, with the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience to design and execute strategies in a global environment. You will be responsible for a team of direct reports, working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement sourcing strategies to solve business problems.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategically partner with key business stakeholders (especially Network Real Estate and Network Planning) to understand needs, manage expectations, and align on priorities.
Develop and implement comprehensive Category strategies and plans, ensuring they generate roadmaps for savings and value streams.
Lead, manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Category experts.
Drive all aspects of complex strategic sourcing processes, including negotiation and contracting with suppliers to secure global agreements that meet Verizon's needs.
Execute robust supplier relationship management, fostering positive and ethical partnerships while leveraging market dynamics and mitigating risk.
Balance short and long-term objectives to align with business strategy and efficiencies, including supplier rationalization.
Manage team performance and development, including recruitment, compensation planning, appraisals, and customized development plans to enhance skill sets and team value.
Oversee sourcing projects, assigning resources, tracking progress, and ensuring successful, on-time completion.
You will need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Extensive experience in sourcing.
Strong negotiation skills and cost management practices.
Proven team leadership skills.
Analytical and/or technical experience with strong attention to detail.
Strong presentation skills and ability to prepare and present across multiple organizational leadership levels.
Proven ability to drive change and transformation.
Even better when you have:
Knowledge of Strategic Sourcing processes, policies, and procedures.
Previous experience in Towers, Network real estate
Excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced matrixed global environment.
Self-motivated /self-starter with ability to work independently.
