Customer Account Manager - SEMOpx

Job Purpose
The SEMOpx team, within Market Operations, run a power exchange that allows wholesale electricity trading for Ireland and Northern Ireland as part of the Single Electricity Market (SEM). Daily day-ahead and intraday auctions allow over 80 generators, suppliers and traders to buy and sell wholesale electricity to meet their electricity trading needs.

We are seeking a dynamic Customer Account Manager to strengthen our relationships and quality of services for existing customers, and help develop our commercial strategy and service offerings to retain and grow our customer base in a competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a professional, quality and consistent service to current and future SEMOpx customers. This will include a portfolio of high-profile customers and trading organisations.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding our customers’ needs, and being able to communicate to customers the value SEMOpx provides to their business.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for customers and take responsibility for addressing enquiries and resolving issues effectively, using subject expertise that you build.
  • Using our CRM tool and internal relationships you develop, coordinate the work with different parts of the organisation to ensure customer requests are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Coordinate the decision making and resolution of operational incident responses ensuring a customer focus and timely resolution.
  • Contribute to the development and operation of appropriate processes that will support an enhanced customer experience and deliver the highest quality customer service.
  • Plan and deliver stakeholder related events including user meetings, committee meetings, customer surveys and marketing campaigns, and manage the SEMOpx brand via our website and social media.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform the commercial strategy.
  • Develop, gain approval and implement commercial strategies for customer retention and business development in a competitive environment.
  • Providing regular insights and learnings about our customers to the SEMOpx team and management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Relevant degree typically with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a customer-facing environment.
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical and / or commercial concepts, and capable of articulating these concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience of effective external stakeholder engagement and management in a complex environment and with an ability to drive successful outcomes.
  • Experience of developing and executing customer retention programmes
  • Preferably a broad understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of the electricity markets and power exchanges.
