Job Purpose
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for driving sales growth, building strong client relationships, and promoting our range of workwear and footwear brands to businesses in the assigned geographic area. This is a field-based, on-the-road position requiring proactive engagement with clients, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering tailored solutions to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and Business Development:
- Identify and target new business opportunities within the construction, manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, hospitality, retail, and other relevant industries in the assigned counties.
- Actively prospect and generate leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings with potential and existing clients to understand their needs and present our product range.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets by promoting Dassy, Tricorp, Elka Rainwear, Toma, Chaud Devant , Sika VM Footwear, and other leading brands.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, product demonstrations, and proposals tailored to client requirements.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Provide expert advice on product selection, ensuring clients receive solutions that meet their specific needs.
- Follow up on leads and maintain regular communication with clients to secure repeat business and referrals.
- Address client queries or requests promptly and professionally.
- Market and Competitor Analysis:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities for growth.
- Provide feedback to the management team on customer needs, market demands, and potential product enhancements.
- Stay informed about the features, benefits, and technical specifications of our product range to position them effectively against competitors.
- Territory Management:
- Plan and manage a schedule of client visits across Counties Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Wicklow, and South Tipperary.
- Optimise travel routes to maximise efficiency and client coverage.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline updates using our Enterpryze CRM software.
- Reporting and Administration:
- Submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and activity updates to the Managing Director.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of administrative tasks, including account opening and order processing.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience:
- Proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or a similar field-based role (preferably in workwear, PPE, or related industries).
- Skills:
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sales acumen with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clients at all levels.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a field-based role.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Education:
- Minimum of a Leaving Certificate; fluent English both verbal and written
- Other Requirements:
- Valid EU driver’s license , no claims, accidents or convictions in the previous five years.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned counties.
- Knowledge of the workwear or PPE industry is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
