Job Summary:
Piu Alto are a joinery/manufacturing company based in Tenure, Co.Louth.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled AutoCAD Technical Drawer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed technical drawings, shop drawings, and production plans for kitchens, media units, reception desks, wardrobes etc.. You will collaborate with our production teams and project managers to ensure that designs are feasible, manufacturable, and aligned with client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed 2D (and 3D if applicable) AutoCAD drawings for components, assemblies, and structures.
- Translate architectural and engineering plans into precise shop drawings for manufacturing and construction.
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant codes, standards, and internal company procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers and production teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
- Revise drawings based on feedback from project managers and production teams.
- Maintain organized drawing files and support document control practices.
- Provide technical support to production and installation teams when needed.
- Assist in optimizing designs for material efficiency and manufacturing workflow.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Diploma or degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in AutoCAD drafting, preferably in a timber or manufacturing environment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D is a plus).
- Knowledge of timber construction methods and materials.
- Ability to interpret architectural and structural plans.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with other CAD software (e.g., Revit, SketchUp, SolidWorks) is an asset.
Desirable (but not required):
- Experience with CNC programming or timber frame design software (e.g., SEMA, CADwork, hsbcad).
Working Conditions:
- Office-based role with regular communication with workshop and site teams.
- Occasional site visits may be required.
