We are currently recruiting for a Café Supervisor on a full time basis in our Tram Cafe located in The Tram Cafe- St Patricks Park, Bride Street, Dublin 8.
The Café Supervisor is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operations of the café. The individual will be responsible for supervising café staff, maintaining quality standards, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to the overall success of the café.
The Café Supervisor is responsible for-
- Supervising and leading a team of café staff. Providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance and customer service.
Staff Management:
· Ensuring appropriate staffing levels throughout the day.
· Reporting any staff issues to the manager and assisting in conflict resolution when necessary.
Documentation:
· Uploading sales figures is managers absence.
· Supporting the manager in making the weekly roster when necessary.
· Reporting any maintenance issues to management when necessary.
Operational Responsibilities:
Overseeing and supervising the daily operations of the Tram Café as outlined below, ensuring all tasks are carried out effectively:
Customer Service:
- Providing exceptional service by greeting customers with a friendly attitude.
- Efficiently handling customer orders and complaints, ensuring they are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Using upselling techniques to increase sales opportunities by recommending additional items.
POS System Operation:
- Accurately handling cash and card transactions using the point of sale (POS) system.
- Balancing the till at the end of each shift by counting the cash.
- Ensuring clear knowledge of all menu items, including allergens, pricing and promotions to assist with customers questions and queries.
Food and Beverage Preparation:
- Assisting in the preparation and presentation of food and beverages according to the café’s standards.
- Carrying out regular quality checks on food preparation and presentation throughout the day.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including proper labelling and storage of food items.
- Adhering strictly to Health & Safety procedures, including HACCP guidelines, to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with food safety regulations.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Keeping inside and outside work surfaces, customer tables, and seating areas clean and organized throughout the day.
- Carrying out daily opening and closing shift responsibilities as per the scheduled roster.
- Carrying out deep cleaning tasks for all café equipment and areas, including dishwashers, Merrichef, ice cream machine, bins, fridges, coffee machines, and bathrooms, ensuring all are kept maintained.
Ordering and Stock Control:
- Responsible for internal kitchen ordering
- Responsible for supplier orders
- Responsible for daily stock control ensuring the café is always fully stocked whilst minimizing waste.
Compliance:
· Ensuring strict adherence to all company procedures and policies as outlined in the company handbook, and providing reminders to staff when these guidelines are not followed.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Any other tasks or duties reasonably requested by the Manager.
- Supervisor experience is required.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work effectively in a team and handle a fast-paced environment.
· Attention to detail and willingness to learn new tasks.
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Hold a valid permit to work in Ireland.
Job Type: Full-time
