Bon Secours Health System is seeking a strong visionary and values-driven leader to join its Executive Management Team as Chief Quality & Patient Safety Officer.
This is a unique opportunity to shape and lead the strategic direction of quality, clinical governance, and patient safety across a dynamic, mission-led organisation committed to excellence in patient care. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a unified quality and patient safety strategy across our five acute hospitals and care village, ensuring the highest standards of clinical performance, patient experience, and regulatory compliance.
The Chief Quality & Patient Safety Officer will play a key role in leading our response to national and international quality standards, including HIQA and JCI, and will provide strategic leadership in the implementation of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The role requires strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to embed a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and compassionate care.
We are seeking an accomplished healthcare leader with a relevant clinical or healthcare qualification and extensive experience in clinical governance and patient safety. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven capability in leading multidisciplinary teams, delivering strategic change, and influencing at senior levels. Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills are essential, along with a deep alignment to the mission, values, and ethos of Bon Secours Health System.
Ideal Candidate:
Qualifications:
  • Relevant Healthcare Degree or equivalent
  • Continuing professional development at the appropriate level.
  • MSc in Quality/ Healthcare (Desirable)
Experience:
  • Demonstrated leadership, and managerial capacity to effectively fulfil the responsibilities of the role.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage successfully, with a strong track record of delivering results in a healthcare setting.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through relevant continuous management education.
  • Experience in leading and managing diverse teams within clinical environments.
  • A history of consistent personal achievement in a comparable, complex organisation or function within the healthcare sector.
Skills:
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to lead with clarity and communicate a shared vision.
  • Proven track record in leading complex change within multi-stakeholder healthcare environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to corporate strategy and deliver Group objectives at senior leadership level.
  • Excellent influencing and communication skills, with the ability to gain buy-in through credibility and trust.
  • Skilled in conveying ideas and decisions with sensitivity to broader organisational dynamics.
  • Effective advocate and negotiator, focused on driving continuous improvement in services and systems.
  • Proficient in IT tools to support quality, data analysis, and reporting functions.
