Job Description
We are seeking a Commercial Manager to join us and play a key role assisting our Clients in the transition to a low carbon energy future. The role will involve working in a dynamic and fast paced organisation and will afford the candidate the opportunity to work on strategic and innovative projects across all stages of development.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for overseeing and managing all commercial elements of programme delivery.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and execution of project Procurement Strategy refresh activities, offering guidance on potential improvements.
- Lead the development & implementation, and ongoing refinement of the Contract Strategy for project packages, ensuring alignment with the overarching Procurement Strategy and contract packaging framework.
- Partner with the Procurement team to shape procurement strategies, engage with the market, and develop tailored approaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing expertise as needed.
- Support the creation of evaluation criteria for procurement processes.
- Drive the effective delivery of all commercial management services across the programme, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to uphold quality standards.
- Introduce and apply best-practice commercial management methodologies throughout the programme.
- Champion initiatives to achieve cost efficiencies and embed Value for Money principles, including earned value analysis and reporting.
- Provide support in contract management and negotiations with consultants, suppliers, and contractors.
- Identify, assess, and lead the management of commercial risks and claims.
- Offer assistance in contract negotiations as required.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of commercial and financial reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience leading commercial management activities on multi-(e)Bn programmes preferably in the Offshore Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Sectors.
- Professional membership(s) with industry recognized bodies ie SCSI, RICS, APM is desirable.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and organisational skills will be essential for this role with the ability to forge and maintain strong working relationships.
- Proactive ability to work independently and work with cross-functional teams including consultants and contractors.
