Position summary:
Reporting to the Head of Compliance for Arch Insurance (EU) dac and Arch Reinsurance Europe Underwriting dac, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining governance standards, mitigating compliance risks, and fostering a strong culture of regulatory adherence across the organization.
This role is a Controlled Function under the Central Bank of Ireland (“CBI”) Fitness & Probity Regime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Head of Compliance with promoting an organizational culture committed to integrity, ethical conduct and compliance with applicable laws and regulations through design and implementation of appropriate standards, policies, procedures and processes.
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments impacting the organisation (including overseas branches) and supporting with timely implementation of same.
- Providing day-to-day advice, challenge and support to the business regarding compliance obligations arising under new initiatives, programs, products and services.
- Assisting the Head of Compliance with the preparation of compliance reports for Executive Management and Boards of Directors, as required.
- Developing and delivering training to employees at all levels of the business on key compliance-related matters and topics.
- Assisting with regulatory fitness and probity applications and ensuring adherence to the CBI Individual Accountability Framework.
- Coordinating responses to regulatory information and documentation requests, as required.
- Preparing and submitting regulatory filings, as required.
- Advising on licensing queries.
- Carrying out compliance monitoring and testing, as required.
- Coordinating with corporate group compliance colleagues to ensure group-wide policies and requirements are implemented, as appropriate, and supporting with group reporting requirements.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Professional certification in compliance or other relevant qualification.
- Compliance experience in a regulated entity, preferably in (re)insurance.
- Good understanding of Irish and wider European regulatory environment including CBI prudential and consumer requirements.
- Strong verbal as well as written communication skills with good attention to detail and ability to produce consistently high-quality work.
- Proven ability to work on own initiative and thrive in a team-based environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and adapt to the needs of the business.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
