JOB DESCRIPTION: DAY SERVICE LEAD

Location: Camp (Day Services)
Hours: Part-time (17.5)
Reports to: Project Coordinator
On-call duty: Rotated, paid additionally
Purpose of the Role: The Day Service Lead is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality, person-centred day supports in alignment with the HSE's New Directions framework. This role involves supporting staff, coordinating daily service operations, and promoting inclusion, skill-building, and community participation for the individuals we support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to the Day Service team, offering guidance, mentorship, and day-to-day support.
- Ensure the day service operates in line with New Directions: Personal Support Services for Adults with Disabilities, including the 12 supports and principles of individualised, community-based service delivery.
- Foster a culture that promotes inclusion, participation, independence, and personal development for all service users.
- Liaise with the Project Coordinator and Psychology Team to support the implementation of Person-Centred Plans (PCPs).
- Coordinate and adapt day programmes, activities, and routines in partnership with staff and service users.
- Work collaboratively with the Home Support Lead to ensure consistent communication and care
- Hold weekly meetings with the service user to explore their hopes, dreams, and wishes, ensuring their goals remain central to the service provided.
- Communication with the service user is imperative to ensure their voice is heard and reflected in all aspects of planning and delivery.
- Monitor quality of service and gather feedback from staff, families, and individuals to support continuous improvement.
- Support staff development through regular check-ins, informal supervision, and guidance.
- Respond to any changes in staff availability or service user needs during the day, including rota adjustments (not full rota creation).
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and empowering environment is maintained at all times.
- Carry out basic administrative tasks including maintaining petty cash, submitting receipts, and tracking small budgets in line with Studio III procedures.
- Ensure responsible spending and stay within budget limits for day-to-day service activities and outings.
- Uphold and promote the values of Studio III in all aspects of leadership, support, and service delivery.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working in disability services, ideally in day programmes or community inclusion roles.
- Experience in leading a team.
- Familiarity with the HSE New Directions policy and its application in real-world settings.
- Strong communication, team leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- A values-led approach aligned with Studio III's commitment to person-centred and low arousal practices.
- Relevant qualifications in social care or a related field
On-Call: Participation in a 7-person on-call rotation. Paid separately at standard Studio III rates.

Pay: From €17.00 per hour
