We are looking for a reliable, friendly, and customer-focused Deli Assistant to join our team. As a Deli Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing, serving, and selling a wide range of deli products while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Prepare and serve deli items such as sliced meats, cheeses, salads, sandwiches, and hot/cold foods
- Operate deli equipment (slicers, ovens, scales, etc.) safely and efficiently
- Keep the deli area clean, organized, and stocked at all times
- Monitor product quality and freshness, rotating stock as needed
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
- Handle customer inquiries, orders, and complaints politely and efficiently
- Assist with inventory control and stock replenishment
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily operational goals
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a deli, food service, or retail environment (preferred but not essential)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
- Basic food safety knowledge (training can be provided)
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
