The Mardyke Bowl is Cork's one stop venue for entertainment in the city center. Home to 7 lanes of bowling, a pool hall, snooker tables, ping pong, shuffle board, In Flight Social darts and private karaoke pods paired with delicious food from the Holy Smoke kitchen with several bars operating throughout the venue.
An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Mardyke Entertainment Complex for a confident, charismatic, customer service focused Leisure Staff and Functions Co-Ordinator.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Reception duties, answering calls, emails, greeting customers and basic admin duties.
- Set up and set down leisure areas, maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and organization on leisure facilities at all times.
- Maintaining and cleaning all leisure equipment.
- Greeting and hosting group bookings of various sizes.
- Instructing and assisting customers on all leisure including bowling, pool, darts and ping-pong.
- Managing all aspects of bookings to ensure our customers have an enjoyable, stress-free and fun experience.
- Ensuring all bookings receive the highest level of customer service.
- Liaise with all relevant departments about booking requirements including, reception, bar, floor and management.
- Keeping up to date on all events, products, services and policies throughout the complex.
- Upselling quieter leisure to our customers.
- Ensuring our groups have the best possible experience here at the Mardyke Entertainment Complex!
The ideal candidate will:
- Be confident, charismatic, friendly and customer service focused.
- Thrive under pressure and have the ability to KEEP CALM in busy or stressful situations.
- Be an extroverted, bubbly, people person that enjoys conversing with customers.
- Have a level of customer service experience (minimum 1 year in a customer facing role).
- Have the ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative.
- Have a positive attitude and strong organization skills.
- Previous hosting/event management experience is a bonus but not essential.
- Basic computer skills are required.
