Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced High Voltage (HV) Electrician/Engineer to lead on-site works across multiple projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, coordinating materials and equipment, and supervising a team of electricians and operatives on-site. This is a key leadership role requiring strong technical expertise and hands-on experience in HV systems, including HV switching operations and Telemess interaction with ESB Networks (ESBN).

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead electrician/technician on HV installation and maintenance works on site
  • Coordinate and manage material deliveries and ensure readiness of site works
  • Supervise and support on-site teams, ensuring safe and efficient operations
  • Liaise with project management and provide regular updates on site progress
  • Perform HV switching operations in line with safety procedures and permits
  • Communicate and coordinate with ESBN, including use of the Telemess system
  • Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with company and industry health & safety standards
  • Maintain accurate site records, permits, and documentation


Requirements

  • Recognised Electrical Qualification (e.g. QQI Level 6 or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in HV environments
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage on-site operations
  • Strong knowledge and experience with HV switching protocols
  • Competency in working with Telemess and ESBN coordination procedures
  • Full Irish driving licence
  • Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and other relevant safety training certifications
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills


Desirable

  • Previous experience working with electrical utilities or in utility-scale projects
  • Authorised Person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status is desirable
  • Familiarity with construction and electrical project timelines and deliverables
