We are seeking a dedicated and experienced milker to on a 80-100 cow dairy farm with a herringbone parlour. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for dairy farming and a strong background in milking operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Milking cows ensuring efficiency and high standards of animal care.
- Maintaining accurate records of milking times, cow health, and milk yields.
- Monitoring cow health and identifying any signs of illness or distress during milking.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the parlour, equipment, and surrounding areas.
- Assisting with the management of milking routines to optimize herd performance.
- Handling cows with care and respect to minimize stress and ensure animal welfare.
- Working closely with farm management to maintain milk quality and meet farm goals.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience milking in a herringbone parlour, ideally with a herd of 60+ cows.
- Strong understanding of animal welfare and dairy farming practices.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Physically fit and able to handle the physical demands of the role.
- A full, clean driving license is preferred.
- Interested working morning & evening.
Working Hours:
- Morning milking's are at 8.00am
- Evening milking's are at 4.30pm
