Applications are invited for the role of Financial Controller, Smurfit Westrock Arklow. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract covering a leave period. The successful candidate will report directly to the Plant Manager and have a dotted line to the Financial Controller of Smurfit Westrock Ireland.
The Key responsibilities of the Financial Controller are:
- Responsible for all local financial reporting in accordance with Group policies and agreed deadlines.
- Responsible for ensuring that all Group compliance requirements are fully and consistently implemented.
- Ensure all Financial Processing activities are effectively and efficiently carried out with full responsibility for all compliance, procedural, and system control matters.
- Manage the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial forecasting, and budgeting in accordance with Group policies and agreed deadlines.
- Generate and monitor appropriate key performance indicators, generating insights and creating an effective link between information and decision making.
- Drive performance, margin, and accountability improvement in conjunction with other functions while fostering a continuous improvement culture.
- Capital Expenditure – Prepare CapEx budgets and be responsible for ongoing monitoring of the same.
Key Competencies/Qualifications/Requirements
- Qualified accountant with appropriate post-qualification experience
- Experience working in an environment using SAP and Hyperion
- Desirable to have experience in an ERP system environment
- Highly motivated and hardworking attitude
- Good interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
- Strong team player
- Manufacturing experience is desirable but not required
