Situated in the heart of North Clare along the Wild Atlantic Way, this thriving hospitality venue includes a busy pub and restaurant, a boutique guest house, and an alternative wedding venue. With a huge outdoor dining and event space, we are poised for further growth and innovation as we join a forward-thinking and growing hospitality group.
We're looking for a General Manager who is not just experienced, but driven. Someone who will take the reins, push boundaries, bring big energy, and treat the business like their own.
The Role:
The General Manager will lead day-to-day operations, manage and motivate staff, maintain high standards of food, service, and hospitality, and work closely with ownership on strategy, marketing, and growth. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on action, innovation, and getting results.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations across the pub, restaurant, guest house, and wedding/events space.
- Ensure excellence in service, cleanliness, guest experience, and team performance.
- Take full responsibility for venue performance and team development.
Team Management & Culture
- Lead a growing team with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a strong sense of hospitality.
- Train, motivate, and schedule staff across all departments.
- Create a positive, productive, and professional work culture.
Financial & Strategic
- Drive revenue growth, cost control, and overall profitability.
- Set, monitor, and exceed KPIs for service standards, customer satisfaction, and sales.
- Manage stock, ordering, budgeting, and supplier relationships.
Weddings, Events & Accommodation
- Coordinate and oversee the physical setup of the venue, including ceremony areas, venue space, outdoor zones, décor layout, table plans, signage, and supplier access.
- Manage wedding day timelines, staff roles, and last-minute changes with calm professionalism.
- Work closely with couples, suppliers, and the in-house events team to create memorable, bespoke experiences that align with the venue’s character and standards.
- Oversee guest house operations, ensuring accommodation is welcoming, clean, and efficiently managed, from check-in to check-out.
- Support the creation and promotion of seasonal wedding packages or exclusive hire offers to drive future bookings.
Marketing & Innovation
- Help drive creative ideas for food, drink, events, and customer engagement
- Be a key player in shaping the future of this venue
About You:

You’re someone who puts the customer and the business first, thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and brings leadership with heart and ambition. This is not a clipboard role, you’ll have real autonomy to shape the team, influence the customer experience, and build something lasting alongside the owners.
Essential Skills:
- Proven hospitality management experience (3+ years at GM or senior level)
- Strong understanding of pub/restaurant operations, guesthouse management, and event coordination
- Track record of driving revenue and team performance
- Excellent communication, people management, and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- Experience managing weddings/events
- Familiarity with North Clare, the Burren, or Wild Atlantic Way hospitality scene

Pay: €40,000.00-€50,000.00 per year
