The General Operative will play a key role in our production, supporting the efficient preparation, assembly or finishing of products. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment and a strong focus on quality, safety, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation Tasks:
- Prepare parts and components for finishing processes, including cleaning, sanding, and masking as required.
- Handle and transport materials and components safely and efficiently between workstations.
Assembly Tasks:
- Assemble products or components according to technical drawings, instructions, or specifications.
- Use hand and power tools accurately and safely.
- Inspect assembled items to ensure quality and precision, addressing any defects.
Quality Assurance:
- Monitor parts and products for defects, inconsistencies, or damage and report issues to supervisors.
- Maintain high standards of quality throughout all production stages.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
- Assist in identifying and resolving minor issues during the assembly process.
- Provide support across other production areas when required.
Workplace Maintenance and Safety:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any equipment malfunctions or hazards promptly.
Continuous Improvement:
- Propose ideas to improve processes, efficiency, and workplace safety.
- Participate in training sessions to build on existing skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or similar role.
- Experience in working with technical drawings, tools, and equipment is essential.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of assembly processes and quality control practices.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Fluency in English essential
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and move materials (within safety limits).
- Comfortable working in a production environment with repetitive tasks.
