Grounds Team Lead
We would like to invite applications for the role of Grounds Team Lead to join our Facilitates Team. Reporting to our Maintenance and Estate Manager, the successful applicant will supervise a small team of Grounds Staff alongside our wider facilities team. Working five days over seven, including rostered weekends as required, the successful candidate will ensure our grounds and facilities are maintained to the highest standard and in line with health and safety protocols. Based in Barretstown, between Naas and Ballymore Eustace, Co Kildare, you will see first-hand the impact of your work, as you Press Play on childhood for families living with serious illness and hear the laughter of camp all around you on our 100-acre site.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead a small team of grounds staff
· Manage site maintenance for grounds and estate lands area
· Conduct routine checks on activity areas including stables, archery, playground, high ropes, mini golf, amphitheatre, treatment plant, percolation area, water supply, lake environment, fencing, entrance gates, roads and pathways and biodiversity ensuring grounds are kept to a highest standard.
- Provide regular updates to line manager on all grounds and services, ensuring all checks lists are signed off and work carried out to a high standard.
- Allocation of tasks and duties using relevant systems and software
· Preparation of grounds for all events
· Waste management for site including general waste, recycling, food waste, cardboard, ensuring we keep improving our recycling vs waste.
· Assist with the management of contracts and service providers
· Support and work closely with other supervisors and teams on cross-over projects and daily tasks.
· A member of the Health & Safety Team to ensure adherence to policies and procedures on site to prevent accidents an incidents
· Ensure a clean working environment in workshops and with tools, PPE, uniform etc.
Requirements/Experience
· Ground maintenance, landscape or estate services experience at team lead or supervisory level
- Knowledge of environmental and/or recycling requirements
· Proficient IT skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in line with Barretstown core values and behaviors
- Good attention to detail and timekeeping
