Role Overview
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work as part of our care team to ensure the comfort, dignity, and well-being of our residents. This is a hands-on role, requiring compassion, reliability, and flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and nights where required.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities (e.g. washing, dressing, toileting)
- Assist residents with mobility and transfers using appropriate equipment
- Support residents during mealtimes, including assistance with feeding where necessary
- Monitor and record residents’ health and well-being, reporting changes promptly to duty Nurse
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date care records in line with policies and procedures
- Promote dignity, respect, and independence in all interactions with residents
- Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
- Participate in activities to support residents’ social, emotional, and recreational needs
- Work collaboratively with nurses, care staff, and other team members
- Adhere to all health, safety, and infection control guidelines
Requirements
- QQI / FETAC Level 5 qualification in Care of the Older Person / Health Care Support or equivalent (essential)
- Previous experience in a nursing home setting is desirable, but training will be provided
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Genuine interest in working with older people
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns, including weekends and nights
- All offers of employment are subject to satisfactory references and Garda Vetting clearance
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: €13.50 per hour
