We are seeking for a Health Economist analyst who will be responsible for analytics and insights of healthcare programmes and pathways through the use of advanced analytical and data visualisation techniques and development of automated and streamlined analytics processes.
The role will include national and international scoping and benchmarking to inform healthcare service design and delivery; supporting the design of a clinical data repository; longitudinal data modelling, health economic analysis, disease burden forecasting and impact modelling of clinical programs and services. This position will take part in service evaluation and impact assessment which will contribute to building excellence, quality and safety across services and programs. Critical thinking and insight generation that is data lead will be core to the role.

Role Purpose
- Responsible for exploratory and ad-hoc data analysis, design of scorecards and dashboards with a view to generating actionables and enabling data-led decision-making.
- Responsible for developing and selecting the most advanced analytical techniques to assess healthcare programmes with focus on driving value across healthcare pathways.
- Supporting the design and development of a clinical data repository with appropriate capabilities.
- Working with GAI and GHO teams to support data analysis work streams across strategic priority areas ranging from claims analysis to service and business evaluation. Included in this is the requirement to support a level of continuous quality improvement and data-driven learning system.
- Working with GAI and GHO teams to support clinical longitudinal analysis and causal modelling of patient level data to build insights on customers and patients and effectiveness of healthcare programmes.
- Responsible for delivering the analysis and interpretation in a way that is “business-user” friendly and easy to interpret.
Education & Knowledge:
- Hold a relevant primary degree in mathematics, computer science, statistics, or public health economics/ epidemiology.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar lead role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong experience working with large longitudinal datasets from various sources and providing statistical analysis and causal modelling to better understand the impact of multiple exposures on health outcomes, and to forecast and predict service needs.
- Proven exceptional interpersonal skills and presentation skills - ability to communicate complex analytical concepts and outputs to a non-technical audience to proactively facilitate key business decisions at a senior executive level.
- Demonstrated strong commercial/ business awareness.
- Demonstrated self-motivation, an ability to work on own initiative with a positive can-do attitude.
- Demonstrated attentiveness to value add and productivity.

Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrate expertise in complex data analytics, including causal modelling, using SQL & Tableau, encompassing large volumes of longitudinal healthcare data in a commercial and/ or healthcare setting.
- Experience in data quality improvement and supporting/ and or developing learning health system essential.
- Expert knowledge of claims, medical and provider data, clinical data repository, its structures and inter-relationships would be an advantage.
- Understanding of the requirements for data protection and basic principles of data protection. Critical thinking, advanced problem solving, negotiation and prioritisation skills
