TITLE: Public Area Attendant
REPORTING TO: Housekeeping Manager, Housekeeping Supervisors and Hotel Management
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To exceed the expectations of the guests and employees by providing the highest standards of cleanliness, service and co-operation at all times.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend or read the handover briefing at the beginning of your shift to ensure that you are aware of any special requirements for the day.
- Follow all standards as outlined in your department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents.
- Greet Guests with a welcoming manner.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures as outlined in your Team Member Handbook and new policies and procedures as introduced from time to time.
- Assist in the documentation of all quality standards and the adherence to these standards.
- Maintain all assigned areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and tidiness
- Maintain exceptional standards of personal grooming and appearance
- Properly clean, supply and equip guest rooms, public areas and staff areas
- Correctly clean and maintain all soft furnishings, curtains and sheer curtains
- Conduct regular inventories
- Immediately report any deficiencies relating to cleanliness or repair
- Immediately report any discrepancies in room status
- Properly handle and record lost property
- Assist colleagues and guests with special requirements
- Properly use and maintain all hotel equipment and property
- You may be asked to Service rooms that must be to the standards required by the Hotel.
- Servicing bathrooms in a hygienic manner
- All soiled linen is removed from the floors immediately.
- Ensure that any special requests from guests are adhered to.
- Communicate our services and facilities to customers as required.
- Daily, weekly, monthly and yearly cleaning is carried out as requested by Management.
- All public areas such as corridors, stairways and fire exits are cleaned and well maintained, clean glass in doors, radiators, pictures and any other equipment that is in the corridors.
- Your housekeeping trolley should always be adequately stocked and clean.
- Never leave your housekeeping trolley or vacuum cleaner unattended.
- Report any maintenance requirements to your Manager / Supervisor.
- Control the amount of equipment, cleaning materials and customer supplies used in all rooms.
- Ensure that all glass, crockery and rubbish is removed from public areas
- A high level of security at all times regarding Master Keys and bedrooms.
- Respecting guests and colleague’s privacy at all times and maintaining a high level of confidentiality
- Report any suspicious behaviour of a customer to a member of the Management Team.
- Adhere to all purchasing and stock control systems and procedures in place in the Hotel.
- Ensure that the Housekeeping Storerooms and Linen Rooms are always kept clean and tidy.
