Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Engineer to join our technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering advanced IT support, overseeing infrastructure projects, and leading the migration of on-premises systems to Microsoft Azure. A strong background in SQL administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning is essential, along with proven experience in cloud migration projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 3rd-line technical support for complex IT issues across servers, networks, applications, and end-user environments.
- Lead and support Azure migration projects, including assessment, planning, execution, and post-migration optimization.
- Administer and maintain SQL databases, ensuring performance, availability, and security.
- Troubleshoot SQL-related issues, perform backups/restores, and optimize queries and indexes.
- Manage and monitor Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related infrastructure.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to deliver infrastructure projects on time.
- Implement and maintain IT security best practices in line with compliance standards.
- Document technical processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides for internal use.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide escalation support for unresolved issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years in IT support/engineering, with at least 2+ years at Level 3 or equivalent.
- Extensive expertise in SQL Server administration (installations, upgrades, tuning, backup/recovery, clustering).
- Hands-on experience with Azure migration projects (IaaS, PaaS, networking, security, M365 integration).
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and Active Directory.
- Solid understanding of networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).
- Proven track record in diagnosing and resolving complex IT issues efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent).
- SQL certifications (MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, or similar).
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices.
- Experience with backup solutions, monitoring tools, and disaster recovery planning.
