Itinerary planner/reservation agent
Joe O’Reilly Ireland DMC (destination Management Company) is the longest established (founded in 1966) DMC, welcoming the World to Ireland for over 58 years, creating memorable itineraries for our partners. Our head office based in Blackpool, Cork, This is where this permanent position will be located.
We are looking for a Itinerary planner/reservations person to join our team, one with absolute fluency in both written and spoken English.
The candidate will be primarily responsible for developing relationships with existing customers and potential customers, dealing with our suppliers across the Island of Ireland. Responsible for developing creative itineraries, making reservations, and assisting the operations department.
The role involves:
- Completing quotations/proposals for new client requests.
- Liaising directly with our international clients.
- Correspondence and negotiation with Irish Suppliers.
- Work with the Sales Director to develop sales within the business.
- The ability to multitask, successfully handling multiple quotations / files at the same time.
- Preparation of operational files as required.
- Assist in the preparation of and participate in both client and staff familiarisation trips which may involve some evening and weekend work.
- Day to day handling of group reservations and cancellations.
- Ability to work on other projects assigned from time to time by your manager.
- General office duties in order to keep a tidy and efficient office.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Fluency in both spoken and written English and French
- Previous experience within the Tourism Industry is a distinct advantage.
- Experience in a similar position/company would be advantageous.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with both existing and potential clients.
- A creative, original and imaginative approach to itineraries.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with good telephone manner.
- A friendly, ‘can do’ attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure and to a deadline.
- Excellent organisational skills, especially prioritising a heavy workload and ability to multi-task, while delivering high quality work.
- Great attention to detail.
- Work flexibly: Ability to work in a team as well as on their own initiative on new products and sales.
- Work effectively with all levels of staff. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
- Excellent computer skills: MS office suite including Powerpoint, Excel, Word.
- Knowledge of Tourplan is a bonus but not essential.
- Passion for Ireland as a destination.
- Full, clean drivers licence a bonus.
Office Hours 09:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday and outside of these times as operations require
