The Role: Key Account Manager
The Key Account Manager is responsible to oversee and nurture a high-value, complex partner relationship within our Driver support team. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring their fleet maintenance and reporting needs are proactively managed and delivered to a high standard. This role demands strong stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of fleet operations and data-driven maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary liaison for a strategically important and complex partner.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships across multiple levels within the partner organisation.
- Conduct regular account reviews, performance updates, and strategic planning sessions.
Fleet Maintenance Oversight:
- Coordinate and manage maintenance schedules across a diverse fleet to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
- Proactively identify and escalate maintenance trends or issues impacting operational performance.
- Collaborate with internal maintenance teams and suppliers to ensure SLA compliance.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Deliver comprehensive and accurate maintenance reports tailored to the partner’s KPIs and operational goals.
- Provide actionable insights from data to support decision-making and cost control.
- Develop and optimise reporting dashboards in collaboration with data teams.
Operational Excellence:
- Monitor, book and manage service delivery against agreed contract terms.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Lead initiatives to continuously improve the partner experience and operational outcomes.
Financial Oversight:
- Support contract profitability by managing costs, identifying upsell opportunities, and controlling service exceptions.
- Assist with forecasting and budgeting in line with account performance.
Skills & Qualifications Required
- 3 years plus experience in a similar role or in the motor industry
- Proven track record of managing large or complex partner with technical requirements.
- Experience with maintenance operations or reporting tools is highly desirable. Strategic thinker and ability to analyse and solve problems quickly
- Expert in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be self-motivated, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience in Higher Education (helpful)
