- Work under the guidance of teachers to implement strategies that support effective learning.
- Support pupils identified on the Learning Support and More Able Pupil (MAP) registers.
- Provide differentiated support tailored to individual learning needs.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress in collaboration with teaching staff.
- Encourage a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Participate in school events, CPD, and performance reviews.
- Supervise students during non-classroom times (e.g., lunch or breaks).
- Support school-wide learning opportunities such as theme days and excursions.
- Provide feedback on student progress to parents/guardians.
- Engage in ongoing professional development.
- Comply with all safeguarding and child protection protocols.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and uphold best practices in special education.
- Minimum Level 5 Certificate in Special Educational Needs Assistance (or equivalent).
- Experience working with students with additional needs and/or English as an Additional Language (EAL) is preferred.
- Prior classroom-based experience is desirable.
- Skilled in behaviour management and implementation of IEPs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills adapted to student needs.
- Sound knowledge of inclusive education practices, relevant legislation, and safeguarding.
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable.
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to engage with teachers, families, and professionals.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
- Calm under pressure with a solutions-oriented, professional approach.
