What you’ll do
Contract Drafting and Review: Prepare, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, supplier agreements, partnership agreements, NDAs, and service level agreements.
Commercial Awareness and Strategy: Provide strategic legal advice on commercial matters, ensuring that our business activities are legally sound and aligned with our commercial objectives.
Intellectual Property Management: Develop and implement strategies for identifying, protecting, and managing our intellectual property assets (e.g., patents, trademarks, trade secrets). This includes working with external IP counsel as needed.
Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and advise on relevant space industry regulations, Export control, licensing requirements, and compliance matters in Ireland and any target international markets.
Risk Management: Identify and assess potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve any legal disputes or litigation effectively.
Corporate Governance: Assist with corporate governance matters, including maintaining company records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Legal Research: Conduct legal research on various topics relevant to the space industry and our business operations.
External Counsel Management: Liaise with and manage external legal counsel on specialized matters as required.
Support Growth: Provide legal support and guidance on strategic initiatives, including potential fundraising activities and international expansion.
Who you are
Qualified solicitor or barrister in Ireland (or a comparable common law jurisdiction).
Experience in commercial law and/or intellectual property and licensing agreements.
Experience in the space industry or another highly regulated technology sector would be a significant advantage.
Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent commercial awareness and a pragmatic, business-oriented approach to legal problem-solving.
Proven ability to work independently, manage a diverse workload, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and concisely to non-legal stakeholders.
A proactive and solution-oriented mindset with a strong desire to learn and contribute to the growth of a startup.
Familiarity with intellectual property law (patents, trademarks, copyright, trade secrets).
Experience with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR).
