Locum General Practitioner (GP)
Location: Busy surgery in Galway, Co. Galway
Job Type: Locum / Temporary - 1 day a week, every Wednesday
Dates: Immediate availability start date 06/08/2025
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Locum General Practitioner (GP) to provide high-quality primary care services to our patients on a temporary basis. You’ll be working with a supportive clinical and administrative team, delivering exceptional patient care in a well-organised practice environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person and/or telephone consultations to registered and walk-in patients
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions in line with evidence-based guidelines
- Prescribe medications appropriately and manage repeat prescriptions
- Complete relevant clinical documentation using internal clinical system
- Collaborate with practice nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff
- Participate in safeguarding, referrals, and patient follow-ups as needed
- Manage clinical correspondence, results, and other routine GP tasks
Requirements:
- Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
- Current valid GMC license to practice
- Indemnity insurance coverage
- Garda vetting
- Familiarity with clinical systems (preferred)
- Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and time management skills
