Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division Donegal

The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.

Purpose of the Role:

As a Manufacturing Shift Lead, you will support and develop a team of process leads, developmental process leaders, and operations processors. You will ensure that production targets and schedules are met while implementing and maintaining processes that enhance productivity. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be key in expanding our fast-paced, inclusive environment. This is a shift based position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safeguard compliance with Corporate and Divisional policies.

• Meet manufacturing schedules, producing the required volume and product mix annually.

• Support problem-solving for plant and manufacturing equipment to achieve product quality and production goals.

• Achieve productivity, quality, and cost objectives.

• Ensure conformance with all relevant policies and procedures.

• Contribute to the creation of Work Instructions and Operations procedures to maintain compliance.

• Complete Performance Excellence Assessments and Development plans to promote continuous improvement.

• Contribute to Exception Reports related to the Manufacturing department.

• Lead efforts to conduct business in a manner that protects human health, safety, and the environment.

Education and Experience:

• A third-level qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Science, Business, or a trade certificate in an Engineering discipline.

• 4 years of experience in a similar environment preferred.

• Experience in achieving strategic gross margin improvement projects supporting manufacturing.

• Team Leadership experience.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Excellent communication skills.
