Role Title: Meals on Wheels Driver
Reporting To: Manager or Designee
Location: Dublin South West, County Dublin
Working Pattern: Mondays - Fridays 11am to 2pm
Weekly Hours: 15 hours
Purpose of the Role:
CareGivers Ireland are currently seeking Meals On Wheels Drivers for our South Dublin Meals on Wheels service. The successful applicants in this role will play a important role in ensuring that our clients within our communities receive meals delivered to their homes.
You will be responsible for timely and safe delivery of meals, while also providing friendly interactions and occasional wellness checks to our clients. This position requires compassion, reliability, and a commitment to serving those in need.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Deliver prepared meals to designated clients on scheduled routes within assigned timeframes.
· Maintain accurate records of meal deliveries, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to delivery schedules.
· Provide friendly and respectful interactions with clients during meal deliveries, offering assistance as needed and fostering a sense of community.
· Conduct basic wellness checks during deliveries, reporting any concerns or issues to appropriate management.
· Safely transport meals using own vehicles, adhering to all Irish Road Safety laws and regulations.
· Communicate effectively with our the Operations Management team, Head Chef and Assistant Chef, fellow delivery drivers, and administrative staff to ensure smooth operation of meal delivery services.
· Follow established protocols for handling meals and ensuring meal quality and safety.
· Uphold confidentiality and respect the privacy of clients and their personal information at all times.
· Participate in all relevant training courses essential for the effective execution of the role.
Key Skills, Competencies & Requirements:
· Valid full drivers license with clean record
· Ability to effectively and clearly communicate with clients
· High level of English proficiency
· Compassionate and patient manner, with a genuine desire to help others
· Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently.
· Physical ability to lift and carry meal containers and navigate stairs or uneven terrain.
· Reliable transportation to and from meal distribution centre, based in Inchicore.
· Willingness to undergo Garda vetting and where applicable International Police Clearance checks and any required training or certifications.
