We are seeking a creative, passionate, and customer-focused Mixologist to craft exceptional cocktails and deliver memorable guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of spirits, ingredients, and bar techniques, along with a flair for presentation and excellent hospitality skills.
Reporting to: As a Mixologist with Só Hotels you will report to Bar Manager (or such person as designated by management).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that you receive a handover briefing at the beginning of your shift to ensure that you are aware of any events or special requirements for the day.
- Ensure that the highest levels of hygiene are maintained and that the food and beverage service areas are kept clean and tidy and are fully prepared for service at all times
- Prepare and serve a wide range of classic and signature cocktails with precision and creativity.
- Greet customers in a welcoming manner and seat them where appropriate.
- Maintain a presence in the room regardless of how few customers there are during service and to be carrying a tray at all times.
- Take orders promptly and clearly and ensure correct till operations are adhered to and that all staff use their own pre-allocated micros card.
- Check frequently that guests are content with meal/beverage/service and ensure that all guests receive polite and courteous attention.
- Ensure tables are always free of unnecessary crockery, cutlery, sauces etc.
- Assist in the documentation of all quality standards and the adherence to these standards at all times.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the Kitchen Team.
- Strive to have a complete knowledge of all elements of the food and beverage product in order to communicate comprehensively this product to the customer.
- You are responsible for efficient service with minimum fuss or delay.
- Daily cleaning duties such as sweeping, hovering and moping of floors/cleaning of equipment such as coffee machines/ using glass washers and to carry out extra duties such as deep cleaning as required.
- Adhere to all purchasing and stock control systems and procedures in place.
- Ensure that a complete handover is done with the on-coming shift and that any checklists, reports and tasks have been completed
- Prepare and serve a wide range of classic and signature cocktails with precision and creativity.
- Engage with guests to understand their preferences and recommend personalised drinks.
- Stay current on industry trends, seasonal ingredients, and innovative mixology techniques.
- Monitor stock levels, order bar supplies, and manage inventory efficiently
- Train and mentor junior bar staff where required.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately using the POS system.
The Candidate:
- Proven experience as a bartender or mixologist in a bar, restaurant, or hotel.
- Strong knowledge of spirits, liqueurs, bitters, wines, and garnishes.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Creative flair and passion for drink innovation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
