Tankardstown House is a privately owned 18th Century Manor House Hotel set in a magnificent 80 acre estate in Slane, Co. Meath.
We are seeking to recruit a strong, confident, and willing Night Porter who will operate in our Front Office Department. Positions are available on both a full-time and part-time basis. 40 hours per week over 4 days.
Main Functions
- To oversee the running of the hotel at night-time and report back to the Hotel Manager
- Perform regular security checks.
- Act as hotel system liaison during night hours.
- Perform all Guest Service Representative functions as required; assist in answering hotel phone calls and notifying guests of messages, check in/out guests, room service delivery, wake up calls.
- May assist with other duties as assigned by management, such as room set up.
- To ensure our guests are efficiently assisted, courteously and professionally in all Front Office related functions while always maintaining the estates high standard of hospitality.
- To have a thorough knowledge of all Front Office operations. To be vigilant in regard to security and health and safety.
- Prepares for each shift by ensuring awareness of all information by taking part in handover with the PM shift and again with the AM shift.
- Assess and report potential safety hazards in order that remedial actions are taken.
- Ensure the front and back of house area is always kept clean and tidy and hazard free.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Some previous experience in a similar role is preferable
- High level of attention to detail and standards of cleanliness.
- Excellent command of English Language.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with general office PC applications.
The ideal candidate must be flexible and able to work weekends and public holidays.
