Outdoor Educator AIM + Afterschool (You must have a QQI level 5 in Childcare or Equivalent to apply for this position)
This may be an exciting opportunity for someone interested in dipping their toes in outdoor education.
Seedling Nature Schools provides nature education for ECCE and for afterschool children. The service is open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. We spend almost all of our time outside throughout the seasons. This is not only possible, but great fun and a very rich experience for both children and adults thanks to wellies, rain pants and shelters. Our learning activities celebrate mud and rain as well as sunshine, wind, flowers, creatures and everything nature provides.
The Role
In the morning you will support the learning and participation of a child with level 7 Aim support. You will work closely together as a team of three educators, who inspire the play and provide learning experiences for 17 preschool children.
In the afternoon, you will work with afterschoolers in one of our three afterschool groups.
The exact schedule is negotiable, but will likely be from 8 or 9 in the morning and will continue through the afternoon to a maximum of 39 hours, with one short day each week.
Benefits
The position includes paid planning, meeting and observation time as well as sick pay and regular outings.
We encourage continuing professional development and provide free training opportunities throughout the year.
Nature will be your greatest teacher and helper. We also have experienced Forest School Leaders in the team, who will introduce you to forest school practices.

The successful candidate must have a minimum qualification at QQI level 5 in childcare or a related field.**
Experience in forest school, adventure or nature pedagogy is an advantage. You must love being outdoors in nature and be passionate about children's learning outdoors.
