Outdoor Educator - Preschool
*Temporary position to cover sick leave until 30. November, 5 mornings/25 hours per week, plus one afternoon if possible.
This may be an exciting opportunity for someone interested in dipping their toes in outdoor education.
Seedling Nature Schools provides nature education for preschool children on the ECCE scheme and for afterschool children. The service is open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. We spend almost all of our time outside throughout the seasons. This is not only possible, but great fun and a very rich experience for both children and adults thanks to wellies, rain pants and shelters. Our learning activities celebrate mud and rain as well as sunshine, wind, flowers, creatures and everything nature provides.
The Role
You will work closely in a team of three to help provide learning experiences and inspire the play of 17 preschool children in your group. You will support the group leader and in turn will be supported in getting to know how outdoor education can work in practice.

Nature will be your greatest teacher and helper. We also have experienced Forest School Leaders in the team, who will introduce you to forest school practices.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have a minimum qualification at QQI level 5 in childcare or a related field.**
Experience in forest school, adventure or nature pedagogy is an advantage. You must love being outdoors in nature and be passionate about children's learning outdoors.
Rate of Pay
14.20 to 17.00 Euro per hour, depending on level of trainging and experience.
Duration
This is a temporary position to cover sick leave until 30. November. Other positions, e.g. with AIM, as well as additional hours in the afternoon may become available.
