As a Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of heavy plant machinery to ensure all equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for hire.
Main Responsibilities:
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on cranes, truck, trailers and LCV.
- Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Conduct pre-hire checks and ensure machinery is in excellent working condition
- Keep accurate service records and report on equipment status
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment
- Occasionally support mobile repairs or site call-outs
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as a plant fitter/mechanic or similar role in the construction or hire industry
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and electrical diagnostics
- Ability to work independently and solve mechanical issues efficiently
- Full clean driving licence required (HGV or trailer licence a bonus)
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety
