The role of a Play Group Leader is a vital role while caring for the children.
Main responsibilities include:
- Supervising the children’s activities, while encouraging their physical, social, emotional and language development.
- Developing play areas with materials and equipment to encourage a variety of children’s activities;
- encouraging children’s independence, self-confidence and social interaction;
- organising and supervising children on outings;
- organising and supervising children’s activities in accordance with Health and Safety regulations,
- Training in First Aid and showing confidence when faced with accidents and emergencies;
- Ensuring equipment is stored appropriately and rooms are kept ventilated, clean and clear of clutter.
- liaising with parents, carers and colleagues and keeping appropriate records.
- Using technology to share information with parents about the childs days and linking learning stories to Aistear & Siolta, the government curriculum.
Job Requirements:
2 years relevant experience with supporting references in a demanding childcare environment or similar required.
Relevant academic professional qualifications essential as recognised by DCDE. Continuous professional development will be encouraged during your employment.
Written and oral fluency in English at a level appropriate for childcare provision and team work essential.
