Title of Post: Post Doctoral Researcher (Level 1) in Soilless Growing Media
JOB SYNOPSIS:
This role presents an exciting opportunity for a researcher dedicated to advancing sustainable agricultural practices. The primary focus will be on the thermochemical production of soilless growing media derived from agricultural residues. The researcher will engage in innovative processes to convert these residues into high-quality growing media, which can significantly enhance plant growth while promoting environmental sustainability. Key responsibilities will include conducting experiments to optimize the thermochemical conversion processes, characterizing the resulting products to assess their physical and chemical properties, and evaluating their effectiveness as growing media. The researcher will also be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, contribute to research publications, and present findings at relevant conferences. This position not only aims to contribute to the field of sustainable agriculture but also seeks to address the pressing issue of agricultural waste management, turning potential waste into valuable resources for modern farming practices.
