Poultry operative and egg gathering

Job Description:

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Egg Gatherer to join our poultry farm team. In this role, you will be responsible for the collection, inspection, and recording of eggs produced by our laying hens. The job is hands-on and requires attention to detail, good animal welfare awareness, and the ability to work efficiently and independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect eggs from conveyor belts in poultry houses regularly throughout the day
• Check eggs for cleanliness and damage, setting aside any that are cracked or dirty
• Record egg counts and report any irregularities or drops in production
• Handle birds calmly and respectfully, ensuring their welfare at all times
• Maintain cleanliness in egg collection areas.
• Assist with other farm duties as required.
• Follow all health and safety and biosecurity protocols

Requirements:

• No previous experience required – full training provided
• Comfortable working around poultry and in a farm environment
• Physically fit and able to walk, bend, and carry light loads throughout the shift
• Good attention to detail and cleanliness
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Willing to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €14.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 39 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
