We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Practice Manager to oversee the operations of three well-established and patient-focused General Practices located in West Donegal.
This is a senior management position requiring strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage people, systems, and day-to-day operations within a healthcare setting. The successful candidate will work closely with GPs, administrative and clinical teams to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the operational and administrative functions across three Practice locations
- Provide day-to-day support to GPs, Practice Nurses, and non-clinical staff
- Manage staff recruitment, rotas, training, and performance reviews
- Oversee financial and resource management including budgeting, payroll coordination, and supplier relationships
- Ensure compliance with HSE, GDPR, HIQA and other relevant healthcare standards and regulations
- Implement and maintain systems, protocols, and policies that support best practice and continuous improvement
- Handle conflict resolution, patient complaints, and sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion
- Contribute to strategic planning, service development, and change management across all sites
- Promote a positive workplace culture and staff wellbeing initiatives
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in a management role with responsibility for teams and operational oversight
- Demonstrated people management skills, including conflict resolution, team development, and performance management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, inclusive leadership style
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving and time-management abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general digital literacy
- Full driving licence and access to own transport (travel between sites is required)
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a General Practice, Primary Care, or healthcare environment
- Familiarity with medical software and practice management systems
- Understanding of Irish healthcare legislation, GDPR, and HSE protocols
