The Role Scope
This role will be responsible for the design, implementation, control, and optimisation of manufacturing processes to include overseeing and assisting with machine tool changes, ensuring they are carried out efficiently, safely, and effectively when required. Responsible for completing all documentation necessary to provide quality, production, and traceability records in accordance with ISO13485 standards/customer specifications. Responsible for making technical adjustments to the machine as required.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- · Responsible for the design, implementation, control, and optimisation of manufacturing processes
- Oversee and carry out tool changes whenever required.
- Carry out tool and/ or material trials when required.
- Assist with process optimisation to ensure tools are running efficiently and within cycletimes and are producing quality parts. Ensure the machine settings are as per the validated status.
- Assist with the introduction and validation of new tooling as required.
- Attend production meetings where required.
- Ensure compliance to ISO 13485, standards/customer specifications and Quality Management Systems or any other Quality System that may be installed in the Company.
- Supporting the shift by reporting on/resolving process/technical issues.
- Work closely with maintenance, tool room and process engineers to ensure technical support for the room.
- Provide assistance, support and training to operators on the shift.
- Perform line clearance in conjunction with the relevant procedures.
- Maintain accuracy of batch documentation at all times and ensuring that it is filled in and right first time.
- Ensure that machines are stopped and started as per the relevant start up procedures in manufacturing manual.
- Understand and safely operates all equipment.
- Reports and/or corrects unsafe working conditions.
- Ensure all moulding machines and ancillary equipment are working correctly and reports any problems.
- Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner by practicing good housekeeping.
- Compliance to all site Environmental, Health and Safety requirements training, and regulations.
- Compliance to all local site company policies, procedures, and corporate policies.
- To strictly comply to all approved procedures within the APL Quality Management System, at all times
- Where identified to raise opportunities for improvement, which can be reviewed and if appropriate implemented within the APL Quality Management System.
Education & Experience
- A degree/qualification in polymer processing or process technologies.
- Previous experience in an injection-moulding production environment would be an advantage.
Relevant Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to accurately document work performed.
- Knowledge in computer systems; integrated manufacturing systems; word processing and spreadsheets.
- Be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative in a fast-paced environment.
