Sheelan Kitchens Ltd is an established family run business operating over 37 years, designing, manufacturing, and fitting kitchens, wardrobes and custom pieces for both home owners and contractors alike.
We are currently seeking for an experienced Procurement Manager to join our growing team.
Role Description:
This role is focused on the sourcing, selection, negotiation, purchasing & payment of required materials & supplies. This is a broad role, with aspects to include:
- Building a strong supplier base through a robust review of existing supplier performance and new supplier proposals
- Identifying new design & manufacturing trends within the industry
- Lead negotiations with key suppliers and ensure price is competitive and profitable
- Creating catalogue of material & labour costings
- Preparing pricelist for sales & design team to work from
- Create stock management system for ease of monitoring
- Purchasing of required materials & supplies, as required per stock level & per job basis
- Reviewing supplier invoices, to ensure prices meet quotations
- Intense emphasis on the overall efficiency of the role, including implementing continuous improvements & software/systems where required.
Skills required
- Extensive knowledge of the kitchen/cabinetry/fitted furniture/joinery industry is required, to ensure accuracy & the ability to break down all components for tendering, optimising budgets & designs.
- Proven track record in similar role, working within the kitchen/joinery industry.
- Competence and experience using Microsoft Office (& other relevant procurement/stock control software).
- High organisational skills including working to deadlines, with great attention to detail
- Carry good communication skills & have pleasant manner towards clients, suppliers & colleagues
- Be punctual, presentable & reliable
- Carry good problem-solving skills & providing solutions on areas for continuous improvement
