JOB OBJECTIVE
As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for creating a daily production plan based on capacity to develop and execute daily production plans aligned with capacity and customer demand.
This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure material availability, adherence to schedules, and maintenance of quality standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning & Scheduling
- Developing detailed short- to medium-term production plans and capacity assessments.
- Collaborate with the Management team to coordinate and plan production activities aimed at improving runtime efficiency.
- Participate in department activities, including planning, forecasting, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Issue daily production plans and verify material availability against the plan.
- Release production orders and review production schedules with management.
- Generate weekly capacity reports, detailing lead times and advising management on additional shifts or overtime needed to meet customer demand.
- Attend daily production meetings and liaise with production personnel to optimize runtime.
- Support daily sales allocations, review and adjust the daily plan per customer / product.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are upheld through effective planning.
- Maintain product quality above required levels, ensuring it is not compromised due to planning or scheduling constraints.
Cost Management
- Contribute to company cost-saving initiatives.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure production schedules align with health and safety targets.
- Adhere to relevant HR policies and procedures.
- Comply with company reporting requirements.
Team Collaboration
- Work with senior team members to drive cultural change initiatives.
- Provide timely feedback to management and other functions.
- Demonstrate company values, including Challenge, Sense of Urgency, and Openness.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience
- Proven experience in production planning or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, capacity planning, and scheduling.
- Proficiency in using production planning software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required for coverage.
- Highly motivated and proven ability to work on own initiative
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATOR (S)
- Meet or Exceed Production Plan adherence target through optimum schedules
- Meet or exceed Labour cost per kg target
- Meet or exceed Materials utilisation around yields and WGA
- Meet or exceed productivity targets, kg/man/hr
- Balance of raw materials, forecast accuracy, manning and OTIF in processing.
- Same SKU revisited more than once in processing in one day
