Job Description


Working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

The main purpose of this role is to support the Quality Manager for the Cork site in developing the quality system and ensuring compliance with INAB, ISO 17025, regulatory and Eurofins quality systems across all aspects of laboratory activities. You will proactively assist management with technical and operational development to ensure both business objectives and customer requirements are consistently delivered.

Main Duties

  • Support the ongoing development of an online electronic quality management system across all Irish sites.
  • Build our existing quality processes to make them more intuitive and compliant.
  • Create training documents on the use of the electronic quality management system.
  • Work on projects to digitize the way in which work is recorded, and to cross-link the controlling systems.
  • Frequent progress reporting to project leads.
  • To Co-ordinate, maintain document control online and physical documentation filing and storage on site.
  • Ensure reporting schedules are adhered to, maintaining due date calendar, notifications, and requirements.
  • Co-ordination of submissions as required to ensure all documentation submissions are up to date and on time.
  • Responsible for the organisation of filing quality documents.
  • Participate in, lead and facilitate external and internal laboratory audits, e.g. INAB, RSA
  • Reviewing Non-conformances investigations/closing them out if all action items are adequately completed.
  • Support in the developing of company policies to meet accreditation, Eurofins and customer requirements
  • Gather pre and post-audit information for external audits and submit data to the accreditation/certification body
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers on relevant areas e.g. equipment calibration
  • Escalate issues affecting Quality performance
  • Collate information and reports and carry out trend analysis for the Annual Management Review meeting
  • Ensure that external proficiency scheme samples are tested and reported accurately, including timely investigations into unsatisfactory results, in conjunction with Laboratory Management.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience of working with ISO 17025 either in a laboratory or QA role is preferred.
  • Educated to degree level in a Life Science subject (chemistry, microbiology, food science, etc.) and/or Quality Assurance.
  • Computer literate
  • Experience of working in an INAB accredited site.
  • Highly motivated, professional and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
